FCT Police Warn Against Planned Attack by Okada Riders in Kubwa, Assures Residents of Safety

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a strong warning in response to a voice note circulating on social media, alleging a planned violent attack by commercial motorcyclists (popularly known as Okada riders) targeting Task Force officials in the Kubwa area on Friday, July 11, 2025.

In a statement released by the Command, authorities described the alleged plan as a serious criminal act and warned that any attempt to disrupt public order will be met with the full force of the law. The Command stressed that it will not tolerate any form of violent protest, assault on law enforcement, or disruption of peace within the FCT.

“This is not a threat—it is a firm assurance,” the statement emphasized. “The FCT Police Command has the capacity, resources, and legal authority to ensure the safety of all residents and officials.”

To proactively prevent any potential breach of peace, the Command has announced the deployment of additional police personnel and operational assets around the Kubwa axis. This move is strictly preventive and should not be misinterpreted by residents.

The Police further encouraged citizens to remain calm, carry on with their normal activities, and report any suspicious movements or individuals. Emergency contact lines remain open for timely assistance:
📞 0803 200 3913, 0806 158 1938.

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that no group or individual will be allowed to destabilize the peace and security of Nigeria’s capital city.
