In honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to lead a federal delegation to Daura, Katsina State, for a special third-day prayer session.
This follows the burial of the late president, who passed away earlier this week. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, had directed full national support for the funeral and mourning activities.
Accompanying the Vice President are Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State and Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State. Several federal ministers and other dignitaries will also be part of the delegation to pay their respects at the late president’s residence in Daura.
The third-day prayer, a significant tradition in Islamic funeral rites, is scheduled to hold tomorrow, drawing close family members, friends, political leaders, and other sympathisers from across the country.
The gathering reflects the high regard in which the late Muhammadu Buhari was held, both as a former military head of state and two-term elected president who played a major role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic journey.
President Tinubu continues to extend condolences to the Buhari family and the people of Katsina State, reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving the legacies of past leaders.
