FMN Agro, through its Premium Cassava Products Division (PCPD), collaborated with the Federal Government in commemorating the 2025 World Cassava Day, held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja. Organized by the Office of the Senior Assistant to the President on Agribusiness and Productivity Enhancement, the event spotlighted Nigeria’s global leadership in cassava production. With the theme “Farm to Global Markets: Driving Industrialization, Food Security and Exports,” the event drew stakeholders from agribusiness, government, and development sectors to discuss scaling cassava processing, youth innovation, and export competitiveness.
During a panel session, Mr. Akhanemeh Joseph Osikhena, General Manager of PCPD, emphasized FMN Agro’s commitment to transforming cassava from a subsistence crop to an industrial commodity. He highlighted FMN’s investments in local capacity building through initiatives like Golden Agri Inputs Limited (GAIL), aiming to reduce Nigeria’s dependency on imported raw materials. FMN’s focus remains on developing a fully integrated cassava value chain that promotes job creation, enhances local production, and drives export revenue, contributing to national food security and economic resilience.
Group Director and MD of FMN Agro, Mr. Sadiq Usman, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to public-private partnerships that support agricultural growth. He praised the Federal Government for initiating strategic platforms like World Cassava Day, which help drive investment readiness and industrial-scale processing in the sector. FMN Agro continues to support smallholder farmers through training, input supply, and market access, strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural ecosystem under its mission of “Feeding and Enriching Lives, Every Day.”
