The family of former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has returned to Kaduna, 12 days after the burial of the ex-president’s in-law in Daura, Katsina State.
The return marks the family’s resettlement after concluding the final funeral rites of Hajiya Aisha Alhaji Mamman, a close family member who was laid to rest following Islamic traditions.
The family had been in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, to mourn and pay final respects, with sympathizers and dignitaries visiting to condole with them. Their stay in Daura extended beyond the burial to allow for family gatherings and prayers in line with cultural and religious customs.
Sources close to the family confirmed that the return to Kaduna is part of a gradual transition back to their routine life, while still receiving condolences from friends, associates, and political allies.
The late Hajiya Aisha Alhaji Mamman was not only a matriarch within the Buhari family but also a respected figure in Daura community, known for her humility and dedication to family values.
Her passing attracted condolences from top government officials, traditional leaders, and well-wishers across Nigeria, with many praising her contributions to the family’s legacy and her quiet but impactful influence.
As the Buhari family returns to Kaduna, the focus remains on quiet reflection and private family engagements away from public political activities.
