Tinubu Vows Completion of All Federal Roads in South-East – Minister

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully committed to completing all ongoing federal road projects in the South-East before the end of his first tenure. According to Mediaplusng.com, Idris gave this assurance on Friday during an inspection tour of the 88-kilometre Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja Road.

The minister explained that President Tinubu has not only directed that all road projects in the region be completed within the current administration but has also provided adequate funding to eliminate bottlenecks that could delay the projects. He stressed that the government is determined to boost transportation, economic growth, and regional connectivity in the South-East.

Meanwhile, the contractor handling the project, Mr. Busari Yusuf, revealed that the Enugu–Abakaliki–Ogoja Road is currently 20 percent completed. He assured the minister that the road will be fully delivered after the rainy season, noting that significant groundwork has already been done.

According to Mediaplusng.com, Friday marked the second day of Idris’ inspection tour of federal projects in the South-East. The minister is also scheduled to inspect more federal projects in Abakaliki and later host a Citizens’ Engagement Forum with stakeholders in Ebonyi State tonight.
