The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major success in its fight against insurgency, neutralising more than 35 terrorists in a precision air operation near the Nigeria–Cameroon border. The airstrikes were carried out under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the early hours of August 23, 2025, targeting terrorists who had gathered after attempting to attack ground troops at Kumshe.
According to Mediaplusng.com, intelligence reports from multiple sources guided the Air Component in launching successive precision strikes on four identified assembly points. The strikes successfully disrupted the terrorists’ movements and eliminated over 35 fighters. Ground forces later confirmed that the situation around Kumshe had been stabilised after the operation.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the latest operation reflects the NAF’s strong commitment to providing close air support to ground troops and cutting off terrorist logistics and escape routes along the North East border region.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, commended the professionalism of the aircrew and stressed that the NAF will sustain aggressive, intelligence-driven air operations until terrorist groups are fully degraded.
This latest success, Mediaplusng.com reports, highlights the Air Force’s continued resolve to dominate the battlespace and ensure the protection of Nigeria’s sovereignty from insurgent threats.
