NDLEA Arrests Criminal Syndicate Leader Behind Saudi Drug Scandal

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 55-year-old Mohammed Ali Abubakar, also known as Bello Karama, identified as the leader of a criminal syndicate at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

According to a report by Mediaplusng.com, the syndicate was allegedly responsible for planting illicit substances in the luggage of three unsuspecting Nigerians who are now being detained in Saudi Arabia on drug trafficking allegations.

At a news conference in Abuja, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, revealed that the victims — Mrs. Maryam Hussain Abdullahi, Mrs. Abdullahi Bahijja Aminu, and Mr. Abdulhamid Saddiq — were on pilgrimage for the lesser Hajj when syndicate members secretly checked in bags containing narcotics under their names.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the NDLEA is intensifying efforts to dismantle the wider network of the criminal gang and secure justice for the innocent victims caught up in the case.
