Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralized 12 fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in fresh counter-terrorism operations across Borno State.
According to military reports, the coordinated offensive took place between 29 and 30 August 2025, with strong support from local security groups and aerial surveillance provided by the Air Component Command.
The troops cleared Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza communities, which had been threatened by insurgent activities. During the raid on a suspected hideout at Loskori Kura, soldiers engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, killing 12 insurgents on the spot.
Weapons and supplies were recovered from the scene, including:
8 AK-47 rifles
8 AK-47 magazines fully loaded with 7.62mm ammunition
Large quantities of drugs and medical items believed to be used by the terrorists
The Nigerian military commended the gallantry of the troops and called on commanders in the theatre of operations to maintain momentum in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The latest success is part of efforts to sustain pressure on ISWAP fighters and restore security in the North-East.
