Bago Declares Niger State APC Campaign Base for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has announced that the state will serve as the campaign headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ interactive meeting in Minna, Bago described himself as the “self-imposed Director-General” of the campaign and vowed to deliver total victory for the APC.

He said President Tinubu should be supported instead of criticized, stressing that the current administration inherited many challenges, including poor road networks.

> “Asiwaju has just completed his second year, and some people are already raising unnecessary issues. He didn’t create the bad roads; he inherited them, just as I did. What we expect from you is loyalty and appreciation, not sabotage,” Bago stated.

The governor also warned against internal wrangling and coalition building within the APC, calling such moves irresponsible. He urged party leaders to mobilize strongly ahead of the by-election in Munya and the local government polls.

> “I don’t want to lose one councillor. Give me 274 councillors, 25 chairmen, and 25 vice-chairmen. Niger State must remain 100 percent APC,” he declared.

Senator Sani Musa, who also spoke at the meeting, praised the unity within the APC, insisting that Niger State remains firmly under the party’s control. He likened Bago’s developmental projects to the infrastructure boom during the Babangida era.

> “Niger State is purely APC. Any so-called coalition has no place here. We are united and ready to move forward,” Musa said.

In the same vein, the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Nma Kolo, described the meeting as proof of APC’s renewed strength in Niger State, noting that former leaders and stakeholders turned up in solidarity.

With Bago’s declaration, Niger State is now positioned as a central hub for APC’s 2027 campaign strategy for President Tinubu.
