The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has released a monthly update on the activities of Nigeria’s security and paramilitary agencies, highlighting significant achievements in operations, arrests, and seizures. The briefing was chaired by the Director-General of the NOA, Mr. Lanre Isa-Onilu, during the joint monthly security press conference in Abuja.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the report showed that the Nigerian Army carried out 261 operations across the country in August 2025. Within the same period, the Nigeria Police Force made 1,950 arrests, while the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) confiscated 66,255.81 kilograms of narcotics. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also secured 588 convictions involving financial crimes worth about ₦22.6 billion.
Mr. Isa-Onilu further explained that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) seized 17 containers of unsafe goods, helping to safeguard public health. Additionally, the Nigeria Immigration Service intensified border security, approving 10,803 visas as part of efforts to regulate migration.
Mediaplusng.com also reports that a total of 368 Nigerians and 105 foreigners were deported or repatriated in line with immigration policies. The NOA boss said the figures reflect the determination of security and law enforcement agencies to protect lives, curb criminality, and promote national security.
