Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has suspended the Commissioner for Health with immediate effect.
According to a report by Mediaplusng.com, the governor’s decision followed concerns over alleged negligence of duty and failure to deliver on key responsibilities expected of the office.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahayya Sarki, on Tuesday. The statement confirmed that the suspension will remain in place until further notice.
Mediaplusng.com also reports that the move comes amid growing criticism of the state’s health sector. Social media influencers had recently raised concerns about healthcare delivery in Kebbi, which reportedly led to their arrest by government officials. They were later released after public outcry and backlash from the media.
Governor Idris stressed that his administration remains committed to accountability, discipline, and service delivery, warning that public officials must uphold the trust placed in them by citizens.
