The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that more than 25 terrorists were killed during a coordinated night air strike in the Bula Yobe–Banki axis of Borno State on September 18, 2025. The operation was carried out under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (AC OPHD).
According to Mediaplusng.com, the operation followed intelligence reports from ground troops, which prompted the deployment of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, alongside strike fighter jets. The ISR platform worked with ground forces to monitor terrorist movements and identified several groups operating north of Banki. Real-time information was shared with field units, allowing a well-coordinated response.
NAF strike aircraft then launched three successive precision attacks on the terrorists’ routes and assembly points. The strikes neutralised more than 25 fighters, effectively disrupting their operations and weakening their presence in the area.
As reported by Mediaplusng.com, surveillance after the air raids confirmed that Nigerian troops maintained their defensive positions with no further threats observed. The Nigerian Air Force described the mission as a demonstration of its strong support for ground operations, its determination to deny terrorists freedom of movement, and its commitment to restoring peace and security in the North-East
