PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS NEW SERVICE CHIEFS TO STRENGTHEN NATIONAL SECURITY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a major shake-up in Nigeria’s military leadership as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s national security framework. The new appointments, which take immediate effect, mark a new phase in the Federal Government’s strategy to enhance professionalism, efficiency, and unity within the Armed Forces.

According to Mediaplusng.com, General Olufemi Oluyede has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa. The new Chief of Army Staff is Major-General W. Shaibu, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke takes over as the Chief of Air Staff. In the Navy, Rear Admiral I. Abbas assumes the role of Chief of Naval Staff. The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye, retains his position.

President Tinubu, who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, expressed deep appreciation to the outgoing Service Chiefs for their selfless and patriotic service to the nation. He commended them for their dedication and leadership in safeguarding the country during their tenure.

As reported by Mediaplusng.com, the President urged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to live up to the trust placed in them. He emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation, intelligence sharing, and discipline within the military ranks to ensure Nigeria’s continued stability and security.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to a safer and more secure Nigeria, calling on the new military heads to uphold the values of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism as they begin their duties.
