NAF Intensifies Precision Strikes, Destroys ISWAP and Bandit Camps Across Northern Nigeria

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stepped up its fight against terrorism and banditry with a new round of precision airstrikes across several northern states. According to Mediaplusng.com, the air operations targeted Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State, and destroyed multiple bandit hideouts in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State, as well as Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The coordinated strikes, carried out on November 9, 2025, mark a major phase in ongoing joint operations—Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA—designed to weaken terrorist and criminal networks across Nigeria’s northern regions.

In Borno State, NAF jets hit ISWAP camps deep in the Northern Tumbuns, guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). Precision strikes were first launched southeast of Shuwaram before shifting to Mallam Fatori, where terrorists were seen mobilising with motorcycles and boats around the Lake Chad Basin. The airstrikes destroyed weapon depots, logistics hubs, and several hideouts, killing many terrorists and disrupting their movement. Post-mission assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several ISWAP elements and the collapse of key operational structures in the area.

Meanwhile, air interdiction missions in Kwara State dealt a heavy blow to criminal gangs operating in Garin Dandi and Chigogo. Based on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft hit their camps with devastating accuracy, causing panic among the bandits. In Katsina State, precision strikes at Zango Hill in Kankara LGA neutralised a notorious terrorist kingpin and his fighters. Using actionable intelligence and multiple attack passes, NAF destroyed key logistics points, marking one of the most decisive operations in the region.

In Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (Sector 1) continued its surveillance and armed reconnaissance along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis, including Kakihum, Dankolo, Kotonkoro, and Kuyello. The mission uncovered suspicious movements near Wam Hill, where armed men on motorcycles attempted to escape. The aircrew responded immediately, eliminating the threats before they could regroup.

These successful operations, Mediaplusng.com reports, reflect NAF’s renewed momentum under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. The Air Force continues to deploy intelligence-driven airpower to protect lives and property while maintaining its commitment to restoring peace and stability across Nigeria.
