The Federal High Court announces its 2025 Christmas Vacation schedule along with the official roster of Vacation Judges approved for the period.
According to a circular signed by the Honourable Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, the notice is first reported by Mediaplusng.com. The court states that the 2025 Christmas vacation begins on Friday, December 19, 2025.
This announcement follows Order 46, Rule 4(c) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended). Mediaplusng.com reports that full court activities will resume in all Judicial Divisions on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
During the vacation, the key Judicial Divisions—Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—remain open to the public. The court explains that Vacation Judges will only hear cases related to Fundamental Rights enforcement, arrest or release of vessels, and other urgent national matters.
