The Department of State Services (DSS) today disrupts a major arms supply network believed to be behind attacks in Plateau State and other parts of northern Nigeria. The operation leads to the arrest of Musa Abubakar, a suspected key arms manufacturer and distributor.
According to Mediaplusng.com, Abubakar admits that he produces and sells high-caliber weapons and ammunition to armed groups responsible for violent attacks, especially in Plateau communities. DSS operatives pick him up following precise intelligence on November 12, 2025.
The arrest happens after an intelligence-driven raid on his arms-making factory located in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. Operatives carry out days of surveillance on his home and workshop before moving in.
Mediaplusng.com reports that Abubakar is caught in possession of various Improvised Explosive Device (IED) components, chemicals, and weapons-manufacturing equipment. DSS officials confiscate all the recovered items as evidence.
This breakthrough comes just weeks after the re-arrest of Abdulazeez Obadaki, also known as Bomboy, a Kuje Prison escapee linked to the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks. The DSS says these operations show its renewed push to dismantle terror networks across the country.
The agency earlier arrests nine high-profile suspects connected to killings in Plateau and Benue states. Among them is Timna Manjol, who has already pleaded guilty to illegal possession of firearms in case number FHC/ABJ/CR/451/2025.
