The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command foils a kidnapping attempt in Guto Village, a border community in Bwari Area Council, in the early hours of Wednesday, November 20, 2025. According to Mediaplusng.com, the attack happens around 1:10 a.m., when the Command receives a distress call that about 30 heavily armed criminals invade the area with the intention of abducting a resident and his family. Police operatives from Bwari Division’s Surveillance Team and the IGP Special Intervention Squad (SIS) immediately move to the scene.
When the criminals see the approaching officers, they open fire. The officers respond with superior firepower, leading to a fierce gun duel. Two of the attackers are neutralized, while others escape into the bush and hilly terrain surrounding the village.
