Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has submitted a petition to the Senate seeking an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 13-year-old Ochanya Ogbanje.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the petition was presented during plenary on behalf of Inibehe Effiong Chambers. The petition alleges that some individuals may be working to shield those responsible for the young girl’s death from justice.
Ochanya, a student of the Federal Government Girls College, Gboko, died on October 17, 2018, reportedly from complications linked to prolonged sexual abuse. Her case has continued to draw public outrage due to allegations of delayed justice.
Mediaplusng.com reports that Senator Natasha urged the Senate to treat the matter with urgency to ensure transparency, accountability, and closure for the victim’s family.
