Troops of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army rescue five kidnapped victims during two quick and coordinated operations around the Isanlu–Egbe axis in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State. The rescue mission takes place on 29 November 2025 after armed bandits abduct four civilians in one attack and a fifth victim in a separate incident.
Mediaplusng.com reports that soldiers responded immediately after receiving distress alerts. The troops mobilise to both locations and engage the kidnappers with superior firepower. Their rapid and decisive action forces the bandits to abandon the victims and flee into the surrounding bushes.
In the second operation, Mediaplusng.com adds, the troops maintain pressure on the criminals, ensuring all five victims are rescued safely and without injuries. The successful missions highlight the increasing efficiency of the Brigade’s intelligence-led operations in the region.
The 12 Brigade, under the leadership of Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, reaffirms its commitment to protecting lives and property across Kogi State. The Army declares that troops will continue aggressive patrols and area domination to block criminal elements from operating freely.
