Four women lose their lives and ten others suffer injuries as Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda encounters two tragic road accidents while returning from the first phase of his statewide tour in the Funtua Zone.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the first crash happens shortly after the governor completes his engagements in Matazu Local Government Area. The governor’s convoy arrives at the scene where a commercial Golf vehicle with registration number DDM 339 XA suffers a fatal accident while transporting passengers from Jibia to Dandume. The vehicle is badly damaged, and several victims are in critical condition.
Governor Radda immediately stops his convoy and personally supervises the rescue efforts. Medical teams attached to the convoy administer first aid while awaiting additional emergency responders.
“No leader should drive past such a tragedy,” the governor says. “These victims are our people. Their lives matter, and we must act with compassion and urgency.”
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, and published on Mediaplusng.com, a second accident occurs along the Kafinsoli–Koda Road as the governor continues his journey back to Katsina. Once again, he orders his convoy to stop and deploys two vehicles from his motorcade to evacuate injured victims to a medical facility in Charanchi for immediate treatment.
In a separate development, the governor sympathizes with the Deputy Governor’s convoy, which is involved in another accident along the Kaduna–Zaria Road, leaving six people injured. He prays for their swift recovery.
Governor Radda expresses deep sorrow over the repeated tragedies, saying:
“May Almighty Allah forgive the departed and grant them Jannatul Firdausi. May He heal the injured and return them safely to their families.”
He assures residents that his administration will continue to strengthen emergency response systems and support structures to protect lives across the state.
