President Bola Tinubu meets with the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, in a closed-door session at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Mediaplusng.com, General Musa arrives at the Villa on Monday evening dressed in traditional northern attire and proceeds straight to the President’s office for the private meeting.
This visit is General Musa’s first appearance at the State House since President Tinubu relieved him of his duties as Chief of Defence Staff in October. Mediaplusng.com reports that the Presidency did not give reasons for his removal at the time, though it followed unconfirmed allegations of an aborted coup plot.
The meeting comes at a critical time as Nigeria confronts multiple security crises across the North—ranging from the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi to attacks on worshippers in Kwara and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.
President Tinubu and General Musa are yet to disclose details of their discussion, but the meeting signals ongoing engagements at the highest level as the nation battles worsening insecurity.
