The Niger State Police Command rescues three more children and arrests three additional suspects as its investigation into a major child abduction and trafficking network widens across Niger, Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Mediaplusng.com, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit makes the latest arrests on November 28, 2025, targeting locations in Nasarawa and Abuja. The suspects include 45-year-old Chioma Onyanja of Nyanya, 48-year-old Joy Ndife of Kurudu and 44-year-old Olusegun Isaiah Anjorin of Orozo. Their arrest follows the earlier capture of the prime suspect, Mrs. Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie, on November 5 at Dikko Junction.

The three rescued children—Saifullahi Abdulmumini (5 months), Possible Danlami (4 years) and Safiya Mamman Sani (1 year, 6 months)—were reportedly abducted from Gajere in Tafa Local Government Area in September 2025. Saifullahi is found with Chioma, who claims she bought the baby for ₦2.7 million through an evangelist from a church in Nyanya. Possible is recovered from Joy, who says she runs a school and orphanage in Mararaba and intended to resell the child. Safiya is traced to Pastor Olusegun, who admits paying ₦1 million for the baby presented as abandoned.

Mediaplusng.com reports that all three children are now safely reunited with their parents. This increases the total number of rescued children in the case to nine, while eleven suspects are already in police custody. The Command continues its search for other trafficked children and buyers linked to the syndicate.

Police also arrest two suspected dealers of adulterated petroleum products after complaints from legitimate PMS vendors. The suspects, 46-year-old Emekomah Prosper and 38-year-old Alhassan Abubakar, allegedly purchase and distribute naphtha to mix with petrol and sell as PMS. Prosper claims he sources the chemical from Owerri, Warri and Ore, while Abubakar admits buying 45,000 litres for ₦39.15 million before mixing and distributing it.

Meanwhile, security operatives clamp down on violent gang clashes in parts of Minna, arresting 23 suspects between November 27 and 30. The suspects—mostly teenagers and young adults—are found with swords, knives, daggers and military camouflage. The police also confirm the death of 21-year-old Bello Mohammed, discovered after an overnight clash at Sabon-Titi.

The Niger Police Command says it remains committed to restoring peace and ensuring the safety of residents across Minna and the entire state.
