The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is praising the courage and professionalism of its Alpha Jet pilots who safely ejected after an in-flight emergency during a post-inspection test flight at NAF Base Kainji on Friday. The aircraft developed a fault shortly after take-off, forcing the crew to respond quickly and calmly.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the pilots steered the aircraft away from residential areas before ejecting safely. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, says both pilots are now undergoing routine medical checks.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, applauds the pilots for their discipline, sound judgement, and swift actions that prevented casualties. He orders the immediate setup of a Board of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the emergency.
As Mediaplusng.com reports, the Nigerian Air Force assures the public that it remains committed to strict safety procedures, continuous training, and operational excellence. The NAF says it will keep prioritizing the safety of its personnel while protecting citizens in line with its constitutional mandate.
