The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State suspends the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Alhaji Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, from the party, with immediate effect, over allegations of misconduct and actions deemed harmful to party unity.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the suspension is conveyed in an official letter signed by the Kebbi Central Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Abubakar Bello. The party states that the decision follows credible reports and internal findings linking the council chairman to misuse of office and activities that allegedly ridicule, embarrass, and undermine the APC in the state.
The APC explains that the alleged actions violate the party’s constitution, specifically Article 21 (2) (ii) of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended), which outlines disciplinary measures for members whose conduct threatens party cohesion and discipline. The party insists that maintaining internal unity and public confidence remains a top priority.
As reported by Mediaplusng.com, the party also directs that Alhaji Ambursa must stay away from all APC offices and activities throughout the duration of his suspension. The leadership warns that failure to comply with this directive or engagement in further acts considered inimical to the party could attract stiffer sanctions.
Party officials stress that the suspension is part of broader efforts by the APC in Kebbi State to enforce discipline, accountability, and adherence to party rules at all levels of governance. They note that the party will not hesitate to act against any member whose conduct brings the APC into disrepute.
The APC leadership reiterates its commitment to due process, stating that the suspended chairman will be given the opportunity to respond to the allegations in line with established party procedures. Until then, the suspension remains in force.
