Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, calls on residents to embrace unity, peace, and renewed commitment to development as the state enters 2026, assuring that his administration remains focused on security, infrastructure, and inclusive governance.

According to Mediaplusng.com, the governor, in his New Year state broadcast, expresses gratitude to God for preservation through the challenges of 2025, while sympathising with families affected by insecurity and violence. He reaffirms the government’s commitment to supporting victims and strengthening measures that protect lives and property across Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang says 2025 marks a turning point in the state’s development journey, driven by the implementation of the Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability. He explains that deliberate investments in peace and security, healthcare, agriculture, education, and human capital development lay a stronger foundation for long-term growth and stability.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the governor credits progress in peacebuilding to strategic collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders. He highlights the recruitment and training of 1,450 personnel under Operation Rainbow across all 17 local government areas as a major step in boosting grassroots security and early-warning response systems.

On infrastructure, Governor Mutfwang notes steady progress in road construction and rehabilitation across the three senatorial zones, improving connectivity between rural and urban communities. He adds that ongoing urban renewal projects in Jos and other towns, alongside improvements in water supply and rural electrification, continue to enhance living standards.

The governor describes education as the backbone of Plateau State’s future, stressing that his administration invests heavily in school renovation, teacher recruitment, training, and the settlement of outstanding sector obligations. He also points to expanded skills acquisition programmes and international scholarship opportunities as part of efforts to prepare youths for global competitiveness.

In the health sector, Governor Mutfwang says the government upgrades primary healthcare centres, expands maternal and child health services, and improves access to essential medicines. He adds that social intervention programmes remain active, providing support for widows, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons, in line with the administration’s inclusive governance agenda.

The governor reaffirms agriculture as a key economic strength of Plateau State, noting sustained support for farmers through input distribution, extension services, improved seedlings, and better market access. He highlights the introduction of improved Plateau potato varieties as part of efforts to boost productivity, income, and export potential.

Governor Mutfwang also outlines plans to strengthen the ease of doing business, promote tourism, support small and medium-scale enterprises, and attract investment. He assures workers that transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline remain priorities, with regular payment of salaries and pensions and continuous engagement with labour unions.

Looking ahead to 2026, the governor outlines key priorities, including deepening peace and security through community policing and intelligence-led operations; accelerating infrastructure delivery; transforming education with digital learning; expanding healthcare coverage; diversifying the economy; and promoting job creation across agriculture, tourism, mining, and the creative sector.

He urges residents to reject division and violence, and instead embrace dialogue, hard work, and mutual respect, stressing that no government can succeed without the cooperation of its people. Governor Mutfwang assures that all political decisions will be guided strictly by the collective interest of Plateau State.

The governor appreciates the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continued support, as well as development partners and stakeholders contributing to the state’s progress. He reassures citizens that his administration remains committed to integrity, compassion, and courage in leadership.

Governor Mutfwang concludes by calling on Plateau residents to remain resilient and hopeful, expressing confidence that 2026 will consolidate gains and restore the state’s glory, while securing a brighter future for generations to come.
