Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, says his administration’s rescue mission is progressing steadily as he inspects key government projects in Shinkafi Local Government Area. The governor states that the ongoing interventions are already delivering visible results across critical sectors.
During the inspection visit on Wednesday, Governor Lawal also launches an empowerment programme facilitated by the member representing Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency, Bello Hassan Shinkafi, Mediaplusng.com reports. The initiative targets about 2,000 beneficiaries with items including vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and other livelihood tools.
As part of the tour, the governor inspects the fully renovated Women and Children Welfare Clinic (WCWC) Primary Healthcare Centre in Shinkafi town. He also visits the upgraded General Hospital and assesses progress at the new Referral Hospital project, which is under construction to serve Shinkafi and neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the Emir’s Palace, Governor Lawal reaffirms his administration’s commitment to executing capital projects across all local government areas, Mediaplusng.com notes. He explains that the renovated General Hospital now has modern medical equipment to meet emergency and routine healthcare needs.
The governor describes the new Referral Hospital as a major boost to healthcare delivery in Zamfara North Senatorial Zone. According to him, the facility will reduce the burden on residents who previously travelled long distances to access specialised medical care.
Governor Lawal also reveals that the state government has acquired the former Bafarawa Institute to accommodate the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Zamfara State University. He says construction work is ongoing to ensure the facility becomes fully operational and supports quality medical education.
He commends Hon. Bello Hassan Shinkafi for prioritising empowerment at the grassroots and urges other political leaders and stakeholders to invest more in human development. The governor stresses that infrastructure development and economic empowerment remain central to his administration’s development agenda.
