Kogi State records a major security breakthrough as joint security forces launch coordinated precision strikes against bandits and criminal hideouts across parts of the state. The operation involves the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigeria Police Force, with aerial support from the Police Airwing.

According to Mediaplusng.com, the coordinated air and ground operations lead to the destruction of several bandits’ camps, the dismantling of criminal supply routes, and the neutralisation of many armed elements. Security sources confirm that several other bandits sustain gunshot injuries and flee into surrounding areas during the encounter.

The renewed security offensive, carried out over the weekend, follows detailed intelligence gathering and strategic planning by the Kogi State Government in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser and heads of security agencies. The operation targets long-standing hideouts used for kidnapping, arms storage, and attacks on communities.

Mediaplusng.com reports that initial feedback from affected communities shows renewed confidence in the ability of security forces to tackle banditry and violent crime. Residents describe the operation as decisive, coordinated, and more effective than previous engagements, raising hope of lasting peace in troubled areas of the state.

Security officials confirm that the precision strikes disrupt criminal networks that operate across forest corridors linking Kogi to neighbouring states. The combined use of aerial surveillance, air strikes, and ground troops limits the movement of bandits and cuts off their escape routes.

The Kogi State Government praises President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strong commitment to national security and support for ongoing operations in the state. Officials say the backing of the Presidency strengthens coordination among security agencies and improves response time to emerging threats.

The government also commends the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the Director-General of the DSS, the Inspector-General of Police, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, and the Director-General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency for their leadership and operational support.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo reaffirms his administration’s resolve to sustain the momentum against banditry and kidnapping. He states that the state will continue to deploy every lawful resource to ensure that criminal groups no longer find safe haven within Kogi’s borders.

The governor stresses that security remains a top priority of his administration, adding that peace and safety are essential for economic growth, investment, and community development. He assures residents that the government will not relent until criminal elements are completely eliminated.

The Kogi State Government urges residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence. Officials say community cooperation remains vital to identifying criminal movements, hideouts, and collaborators who enable bandit operations.

Members of the public and health institutions across the state are also advised to promptly report cases of gunshot wounds to security authorities. The government explains that such reports help security agencies track fleeing suspects injured during operations and prevent criminals from receiving covert medical treatment.

Security agencies assure residents that patrols, surveillance, and targeted operations continue across vulnerable areas to prevent retaliation or regrouping by fleeing bandits. They also warn criminal elements to surrender or face intensified operations.

The Kogi State Government reiterates its full commitment to protecting lives and property and restoring lasting peace across all local government areas. Officials maintain that the recent breakthrough marks a significant step in reclaiming communities and weakening criminal networks operating within and around the state.

The government thanks residents for their cooperation and calls for sustained vigilance as security forces build on the success of the latest precision strikes.
