The Nigeria Police Force confirms that an abduction incident occurs in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following days of uncertainty and conflicting reports that trigger fear among residents.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the confirmation is contained in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who explains that the incident was initially disputed during a Kaduna State Security Council meeting convened by the state governor.
According to the Police, some individuals from the affected local government area initially described the abduction report as false, creating confusion and the need for further verification by security agencies. The Force clarifies that earlier comments by the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, which many interpreted as a denial, are meant to prevent public panic while investigations continue.
Mediaplusng.com gathered that after further checks by operational units and intelligence sources, the Police now confirm that the abduction did take place, prompting immediate security intervention at the highest level.
In response, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, orders the deployment of critical tactical and intelligence assets to Kajuru and surrounding communities to address the situation and restore public confidence.
The Police say specialised tactical units are now on ground, patrols are intensified, and coordinated search-and-rescue operations are ongoing to locate and safely rescue the abducted victims.
The Force assures residents that all necessary measures are being taken to secure lives and property, while urging members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
The Police also advise the media and the public to rely strictly on official sources for accurate and verified information, warning that speculation and misinformation could undermine ongoing operations and endanger lives.
