Police Arrest Fake Soldier, Others

The Plateau State Police Command is confirming the arrest of a suspected fake soldier and five other individuals following heightened tension across parts of Jos metropolis.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state says the suspect is apprehended in Angwan Rukuba, a community recently affected by violence that resulted in multiple casualties.
Police say the individual is found roaming suspiciously within the area, dressed in military-style clothing, raising concerns among residents and security operatives.
Upon arrest, officers recover a fake Nigerian Military School identity card from the suspect, reinforcing suspicions that he is impersonating a member of the armed forces.
The police command also confirms the arrest of five additional suspects linked to unrest recorded earlier in the day across different parts of Jos.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the suspects allegedly exploit the tension in the city to carry out criminal activities, including theft and street-level attacks on unsuspecting residents.
Police say the affected locations include parts of the Terminus axis, where individuals reportedly have bags and money snatched during the confusion.
