Troops of Operation Hadin Kai are intensifying counter-terrorism operations across Nigeria’s North East, recording major successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements through coordinated offensives, arrests, and disruption of logistics networks.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the sustained military operations between March 31 and April 4, 2026, demonstrate renewed momentum in the fight against insurgency, with troops targeting supply chains and operational bases of terrorist groups across multiple locations.
In Yobe State, troops under Sector 2, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, act on credible intelligence to engage suspected terrorist logistics suppliers near Geidam.
During the operation, troops neutralize three suspected terrorists and disable a vehicle believed to be transporting supplies intended for insurgent camps.
Other items recovered at the scene include mobile phones and materials suspected to be used in sustaining terrorist operations in remote locations, further weakening the logistics capacity of the insurgents.
According to Mediaplusng.com, security analysts note that targeting supply chains remains a critical strategy in dismantling insurgent networks and limiting their operational reach.
Along the Konduga–Kawuri axis in Borno State, troops successfully ambush terrorists attempting to plant improvised explosive devices along a major route frequently used by civilians and security personnel.
Troops engage the insurgents with superior firepower, triggering an explosion that results in the neutralisation of two terrorists, while weapons and ammunition are recovered from the scene.
In a separate operation, troops detect and safely detonate an improvised explosive device along the Ngoshe–Pulka road, ensuring safe passage for commuters and reducing risks of civilian casualties.
In Adamawa State, troops under Sector 4, working in collaboration with local hunters, conduct coordinated offensives in Mubi North Local Government Area.
During the operation, three suspected members of Boko Haram and ISWAP are arrested, with preliminary investigations revealing that one of the suspects previously gathered intelligence on troop movements and activities.
The suspect also reportedly confesses involvement in a recent attack where insurgents suffered significant losses following military engagement.
All arrested suspects remain in custody as authorities continue interrogation and intelligence gathering to uncover broader networks and collaborators.
At Mainok market, troops apprehend three individuals suspected to be supplying logistics to terrorist groups, recovering livestock, mobile phones, and cash believed to support insurgent operations.
Security forces emphasize that disrupting these networks significantly reduces the operational strength and sustainability of terrorist groups in the region.
In Yobe State, troops intercept a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist elements, identifying two occupants with gunshot wounds linked to previous engagements with military forces.
Recovered communication devices from the suspects are now aiding ongoing investigations, providing intelligence on insurgent movements and coordination.
Troops also arrest several informants and collaborators attempting to move across territorial boundaries, as well as a foreign national intercepted under suspicious circumstances at a security checkpoint.
Military authorities stress the importance of vigilance in preventing cross-border movements that could aid insurgent regrouping or logistics coordination.
Across the theatre of operations, troops continue aggressive patrols, clearance missions, and intelligence-driven engagements aimed at denying insurgents freedom of movement.
The Military High Command commends the troops for their resilience, professionalism, and sustained commitment to national security, noting that operations are conducted without major setbacks.
Command authorities urge troops to maintain operational tempo and build on recent successes to further degrade insurgent capabilities across the North East.
Security experts highlight that continued military pressure, combined with intelligence collaboration and community support, is essential to achieving long-term stability in the region.
Operation Hadin Kai remains central to Nigeria’s counter-terrorism strategy, with ongoing efforts focused on restoring peace, safeguarding communities, and protecting economic activities in the North East.
Troops remain on high alert, sustaining coordinated operations aimed at eliminating insurgent threats and ensuring lasting security across affected states.
