PDP shifts caucus meeting to Bauchi State Lodge in Abuja after FCTA seals Wadata Plaza. Key leaders gather to discuss NEC meetings and party crises.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is currently holding an emergency caucus meeting at the Bauchi State Government Lodge in Abuja. The closed-door session comes after the sudden sealing of the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Originally scheduled for 7:00 PM, the meeting was moved forward due to the disruption caused by the FCTA’s action, which also prevented the Board of Trustees (BoT) from convening earlier in the day. The BoT meeting was expected to precede the caucus deliberations.
Sources within the party revealed that high on the agenda is the upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 27th. Discussions are also expected to address the implications of the FCTA’s move on party operations and internal cohesion.
The PDP caucus includes serving governors, national assembly members, BoT members, as well as former presidents and vice presidents. The latest developments are seen as critical moments in the party’s ongoing leadership and administrative challenges.
