Former Nigerian Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has expressed deep sympathy to the people of Mokwa and the entire Niger State following the recent devastating flood in Mokwa Local Government Area.
General Babangida offered his condolences during a Sallah homage visit by a delegation from the Niger State Government, led by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, at his Uphill residence in Minna.
Describing the flood incident as tragic, the former Head of State noted that while such occurrences are unfortunate, they are part of divine will. He urged residents to remain prayerful and committed to the well-being of the state, especially in remembering those who lost their lives in the disaster.
IBB commended Governor Umaru Bago for his administration’s visible development efforts and encouraged continued progress across the state. He also reaffirmed his support for the government’s initiatives and growth agenda.
In his remarks, Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba said the visit was aimed at seeking the elder statesman’s blessings and guidance. He acknowledged General Babangida’s concern over the flood disaster and thanked him for consistently playing a fatherly role in the affairs of the state.
Garba assured that the present administration remains committed to the ideals of service, promising that the state will continue to honor IBB’s legacy and dedication to national unity and development.
