The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has reaffirmed its support for Governor Abdullahi Sule and the party’s State Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, by passing a fresh vote of confidence in their leadership.
The resolution was made during the APC State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held on Tuesday at the party’s secretariat in Lafia. The meeting, led by State Secretary Hon. Yarus G. Daguza, highlighted the achievements of Governor Sule in infrastructure, governance, and party unity.
According to the SEC, Governor Sule has demonstrated effective leadership through various people-centered projects across sectors and for successfully coordinating the recent official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state. The party noted that President Tinubu personally praised the Governor’s leadership during the visit.
The Nasarawa APC SEC also backed the Governor’s call for stronger internal democracy within the party, emphasizing the need for transparent, fair primaries and urging aspirants to conduct themselves with maturity while awaiting official guidelines.
In addition, a vote of confidence was passed on the APC State Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, recognizing his consistent efforts in strengthening the party despite internal political dynamics.
However, the party condemned the actions of certain executive members from the Gayam Ward in Lafia Local Government Area, accusing them of attempting to destabilize the party. The SEC called for a thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary action against those involved.
On a broader note, the Nasarawa APC extended its condolences to the governments and people of Benue, Plateau, and Niger states, following recent flood and violent incidents. The party prayed for peace and restoration for all affected
