At least 15 people have reportedly been killed following a deadly bandit attack in Kwallaijiya village, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
According to local sources, the armed attackers stormed the community in the early hours of Wednesday, firing shots indiscriminately and leaving multiple residents dead and others injured.
Residents expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity in the area, alleging that some individuals within the community may be aiding criminal elements responsible for recurring violence. One of the suspected bandits behind the attack has been identified by locals as “Charambe,” a name linked to previous violent incidents in the area.
The Chairman of Tangaza Local Government, Hon. Isa Bashir Kalanjeni, visited the affected village and joined families during the mass burial of the victims.
As of the time of this report, the Sokoto State Police Command has not officially confirmed the incident, and efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer have been unsuccessful.
