The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its National Vice Chairman (South-South), Mr. Usani Uguru Usani, for actions the party describes as violating its constitution and threatening internal unity.
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by Mr. James Otudor, the ADC’s Cross River State Publicity Secretary, the party said Mr. Usani’s recent conduct contradicts key provisions of the ADC Constitution. The suspension, according to the party, takes immediate effect.
The decision followed a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the ADC, Cross River State Chapter, held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, where several petitions and reports against the Vice Chairman were discussed.
The SWC accused Mr. Usani of anti-party activities, insubordination to party authorities, and actions capable of damaging the image and electoral strength of the ADC in the South-South region. The committee emphasized that his behavior had become “detrimental to the peace, cohesion, and progress” of the party.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the party also expressed concern over the recent appointment of Miss Jackie Wayas as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, describing it as unilateral and lacking proper consultation with the state leadership.
The ADC stressed that it remains committed to upholding discipline, transparency, and constitutional order, urging all members to work together to strengthen the party’s democratic values and public trust.
