The All Progressives Congress (APC) begins electronic registration and revalidation of its membership in Kwara State, as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq officially flags off the exercise aimed at strengthening party structures and improving internal planning.
Governor AbdulRazaq, who registers as the first member under the new digital system, says the initiative will help the party maintain an accurate and reliable database of members, Mediaplusng.com reports. He explains that credible membership data is essential for effective mobilisation, decision-making, and future elections.
The e-registration exercise is designed to determine the actual number of APC members across the state while opening the door for new members to join the party. Party officials say the digital process will also reduce disputes associated with manual registration and improve transparency.
Addressing party leaders and members at the event, the State Coordinator of the e-registration exercise, Mubarak Bello, outlines the registration process and technical requirements, Mediaplusng.com understands. He assures members that the system is secure, efficient, and capable of capturing accurate data statewide.
Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Bukola Babalola, calls for collective support from party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots members to ensure the success of the exercise. He stresses that unity and cooperation are critical to achieving the goals of the registration drive.
Governor AbdulRazaq also reminds members that a valid National Identity Number (NIN) is required to complete registration. He directs party officials to ensure that all eligible members who wish to register are accommodated, warning against exclusion or discrimination during the process.
Following the flag-off ceremony, the governor and some top party officials visit the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, where they receive royal blessings for the exercise and the continued progress of the state.
Party leaders describe the e-registration initiative as a major step toward modernising party administration in Kwara State and deepening internal democracy ahead of future political activities.
