The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, says he is confident that the abducted pupils and teachers of St. Mary’s School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State will soon reunite with their families.

According to Mediaplusng.com, Yilwatda gave the assurance during a solidarity visit to the Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). He said the party stands firmly with the affected families, the Christian community, and the people of the state during this difficult period.

Yilwatda expressed sympathy over the incident, noting that national prayers are ongoing for the safe rescue of the children and teachers. He added that despite the pain the families are going through, there is strong hope that the victims will return safely.

Earlier today, Yilwatda met with Governor Umaru Bago at the Government House in Minna, where he received updates on efforts by the government and security agencies to secure the release of the abducted pupils and staff, Mediaplusng.com reports.

The APC Chairman also commended President Bola Tinubu for the security measures already taken, noting that several interventions are beginning to yield positive results. He prayed that these actions will soon lead to the safe recovery of the St. Mary’s School victims.

Yilwatda, however, expressed concern over the rising cases of kidnappings across the country. He called for stronger cooperation among security agencies, communities, and government institutions to curb the growing threat.

In his remarks, the CAN Chairman in Niger State, Rev. Bulus Yohanna—represented by Vice Chairman Rev. Ezekiel Ibrahim—thanked the APC leadership for the visit and reassurance. He said the Christian community continues to pray for the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers.
