Babcock University officially begins a new chapter as Prof. Olutunde A. Ojewole is inaugurated as the new President/Vice-Chancellor, taking over from Prof. Ademola S. Tayo at the university’s sports complex on December 1, 2025. The ceremony brings together council members, the university community, royal fathers, and partners who celebrate the transition of leadership.

According to Mediaplusng.com, Prof. Ojewole pledges a servant-leadership style built on humility, grace, vision, courage, and excellence. He says his main mission is to “Build People,” placing human development above profit, programs, or politics. He commits to nurturing servant-leaders and supporting the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and social growth of students and staff.

Prof. Ojewole also highlights his administrative framework summarized in the acronym GRACE — Globally Relevant, Research-Focused, Adventist-Rooted, Competent Community, and Entrepreneurial-Driven. Mediaplusng.com reports that he plans to build a strong team of faculty, staff, and students who will drive innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship across the university.

His inaugural agenda includes a better student experience, faster transcript processing, improved meal quality, and a stronger admissions system. He also outlines plans to expand international student enrollment, increase global exposure for faculty, and deepen industry partnerships through research commercialization and innovation hubs.

Prof. Ojewole’s long-term vision features major infrastructure upgrades such as smart classrooms with interactive technology, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and renewable energy systems to reduce the carbon footprint. He also proposes campus-wide recycling, better sanitation, and environmental improvements for a healthier learning environment.

A respected pastor-scholar, Prof. Ojewole holds degrees in Estate Management, Religious Studies, Theology, Biblical Exegesis, and Ethics from Obafemi Awolowo University and Andrews University in the United States. His message inspires confidence and aligns with Babcock University’s belief that “the future is bright.”

His inauguration also echoes the reflections of outgoing VC Prof. Ademola S. Tayo, who celebrates his decade of service and the shared achievements of a community united by mission and faith. He describes the moment as a celebration of God’s faithfulness and the power of collective vision.

As Babcock University moves forward under Prof. Ojewole, the institution remains focused on becoming a globally respected, digitally driven university rooted in Adventist values and committed to people, innovation, and community impact.
