The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced a full investigation into an alleged security breach involving Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the incident occurred on Monday, August 5, 2025, during boarding for a ValueJet Airlines flight (Flight VK 201) en route to Lagos. In an official statement released on Wednesday, FAAN confirmed that K1 De Ultimate was involved in a confrontation with airport security over a violation of aviation safety rules.

According to Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, preliminary findings indicate that the musician attempted to board the aircraft with a flask containing an unidentified liquid, contravening strict aviation regulations that ban liquids exceeding 100ml in hand luggage.

“Despite multiple warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the Flight Captain, the passenger refused to comply,” the statement noted.

Mediaplusng.com gathered that the situation escalated when K1 De Ultimate allegedly spilled the flask’s contents—later identified as alcohol—on an airline security officer during the boarding process. Efforts by the Flight Captain to de-escalate the matter reportedly met with resistance, prompting the closure of the aircraft door once boarding was complete.

FAAN revealed that the musician proceeded to the front section of the aircraft, where he allegedly refused to vacate despite repeated instructions from airline staff. He was eventually escorted off the aircraft by AVSEC crime unit officials for further investigation before being released.

Mediaplusng.com reports that FAAN has condemned the disruption, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance against actions that jeopardize aviation safety and operational integrity, regardless of the personalities involved.

“FAAN is committed to safeguarding passengers, crew, and airport personnel, and will ensure that all parties found culpable are held accountable in line with Nigerian aviation laws,” the statement read.

The Authority assured the public of its continuous efforts to enforce global best practices across all Nigerian airports.
