The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims circulating in the media that officers sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat located in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
In a statement released by the Command, the police described the reports as false, misleading, and not a true reflection of events. According to the statement, police personnel were only deployed to the area to maintain peace and ensure public safety, in line with their constitutional duty.
“At no point was the PDP Secretariat sealed by our officers,” the FCT Police clarified.
The Commissioner of Police for the FCT urged media houses and journalists to always verify sensitive information through the office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) before publication to avoid spreading misinformation.
The clarification comes amid heightened political activities within the party, with security presence observed at the location to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
