FG Celebrates 17-Year-Old Nafisa Aminu as World’s Best in English at Global Competition

The Federal Government has honoured Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, for emerging World’s Best in English Language Skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom.

Representing Nigeria through Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), Nafisa outperformed over 20,000 students from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations. Her victory is a proud moment for Nigeria and a significant win for the Renewed Hope Agenda in Education championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and Minister of State, Prof. Suiwaba Sa’id Ahmed, praised Nafisa’s brilliance, dedication, and determination, describing her achievement as a symbol of Nigeria’s educational progress and a clear sign of the country’s potential to raise globally competitive students.

The Federal Ministry of Education also lauded Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State for his investments in educational reforms, as well as Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss, Yobe Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, for his continuous efforts to uplift academic standards. Special recognition was given to the teachers, parents, and staff of NTIC for nurturing Nafisa’s exceptional talent.

Nafisa’s victory is seen as a testament to the Federal Government’s commitment to revamping the education sector through investments in learning materials, teacher development, and student empowerment. It also highlights the power of collaboration between federal and state governments in achieving excellence in education.

The Federal Ministry of Education urged students across Nigeria to draw inspiration from Nafisa’s achievement and reaffirmed its resolve to provide quality education that equips Nigerian children to compete successfully on the world stage.
