Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared that peace has fully returned to the state after months of political tension.
He made this known on Monday in Abuja while speaking with State House Correspondents shortly after visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. According to Mediaplusng.com, the governor said the crisis that rocked Rivers State has been resolved and harmony restored.
Governor Fubara, who recently returned to office following a six-month suspension, confirmed that his relationship with his political principal, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is now cordial. He dismissed suggestions that the reconciliation was superficial, insisting that both leaders are now working together in the interest of the people.
Speaking further, the governor appreciated President Tinubu’s intervention in restoring peace to Rivers State. He explained that his visit to the Villa was to thank the President for lifting his suspension and to seek guidance on governance.
