Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State is set to host governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a strategic meeting in Gusau, the state capital.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the PDP governors are expected to arrive in Zamfara this evening, ahead of the formal meeting scheduled for Saturday. The gathering comes at a time when the party intensifies efforts to strengthen internal unity and reposition itself in Nigeria’s political landscape.
A statement by Sulaiman Bala Idris, spokesperson for Governor Lawal, confirmed that the PDP Governors Forum will hold its meeting in Zamfara to deliberate on political strategies, governance issues, and coordination ahead of future national engagements.
Mediaplusng.com also reports that Governor Lawal will host a dinner in honour of his colleagues tonight before the closed-door session begins tomorrow. The agenda is expected to cover pressing political matters, party unity, and developmental collaborations across PDP-controlled states.
The meeting will also serve as preparation for the party’s upcoming national convention, organized by the National Executive Committee (NEC), which is scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025
