Niger State Governor Umaru Bago expresses deep sadness over the recent terrorist attack on communities in Borgu Local Government Area, Mediaplusng.com reports.
Through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor describes the assault as cruel and nefarious, noting that it caused multiple deaths, kidnappings, and the destruction of livelihoods. The victims at Kasuwan Daji Market in Sukumbara Village include both Christians and Muslims from different communities within the LGA.
Governor Bago extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and calls on residents to remain strong and resolute in faith. He emphasizes that his administration is working closely with the federal government and security agencies to secure the affected areas and prevent further attacks, Mediaplusng.com adds.
He also confirms that joint security teams are actively pursuing the terrorists to rescue the kidnapped victims. The governor prays for the repose of the deceased, the safe return of abducted persons, healing for the injured, and restoration of livelihoods lost in the attack.
