Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) 2025 Elective National Convention, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has publicly distanced himself from the party’s decision to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
According to Mediaplusng.com, the governor says he is not aligned with the move and is committed to actions that promote unity within the PDP.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri says the reported expulsion is not in the best interest of the party, stressing that he will not support any decision that could put the PDP in a deeper crisis.
Mediaplusng.com reports that the governor emphasises peace-building, reconciliation, and party stability as the only sustainable way forward.
Governor Fintiri explains that as a loyal party member, his priority is preserving the strength and identity of the PDP. He notes that political disagreements should not be allowed to push the party toward disunity or fragmentation.
According to him, “I stand for the peace and stability of the PDP, and I will not support anything that could lead to its disintegration.”
He calls on all PDP stakeholders across the country to focus on healing divisions, closing ranks, and rebuilding trust within the party. Fintiri insists that unity is essential as the PDP prepares for future elections and national engagements.
The governor also reaffirms his commitment to backing initiatives that promote stability and progress in the PDP. He maintains that his position is motivated by the need for harmony rather than conflict, stressing that reconciliation remains the only path that can restore the party’s strength and credibility.
