Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has publicly distanced himself from the motion seeking the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and other senior members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a statement from the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang says he is not part of the decision and was never consulted before the motion was presented.
Governor Mutfwang explains that the matter was not discussed at the PDP Governors Forum or at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, making it impossible for the motion to reflect his position. He stresses that such a sensitive decision requires broader consultation and unity within the party.
The Governor also says expelling key party figures at a time when the PDP is trying to rebuild is not a strategic step. He believes that the party should focus on resolving internal conflicts through dialogue, cooperation, and stronger engagement among leaders.
Mutfwang calls for calm, urging members to avoid actions that could deepen the division within the party. He insists that rebuilding the PDP requires patience, reconciliation, and a clear plan that keeps the party united.
His position aligns with ongoing efforts by party stakeholders to restore confidence and strengthen the PDP ahead of future elections.
