Governors of Kwara, Kogi, and Ekiti states are stepping up inter-state solidarity efforts following the deadly terrorist attack in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, as they visit injured victims receiving treatment in Ilorin and commiserate with affected families.

According to Mediaplusng.com, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq leads his Kogi and Ekiti counterparts, Governor Usman Ododo and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, to hospitals in Ilorin where survivors of the attack are undergoing medical care. The governors sympathise with the victims, pray for their recovery, and assess the medical response to the incident.

The visit comes amid growing concern over insecurity in border communities, as the Woro attack reportedly claims many lives and leaves several others injured. While most of the wounded victims have been discharged after responding to treatment, a few remain hospitalised due to critical conditions, according to medical officials.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the visiting governors describe the attack as tragic and unacceptable, stressing the need for sustained security collaboration between states and the federal government to prevent a recurrence. They assure residents that governments at all levels are working to restore peace and protect lives.

Speaking with journalists at Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji expresses deep condolences to Governor AbdulRazaq and the people of Kwara State. He describes the killings as unfortunate and painful, while commending the swift response of both federal and state authorities to the incident.

Governor Oyebanji notes that the governors stand in full solidarity with the victims and bereaved families, adding that such moments require unity beyond political or geographical boundaries. He prays for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and urges continued support for the injured.

Earlier, a high-powered federal government delegation led by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, also visits Ilorin as part of condolence activities. The delegation pays a visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, over the deaths recorded in Woro Kaiama and the passing of the Chief Imam of Ilorin.

During the visit, Senator Barau conveys the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and assures the traditional institution and the people of Kwara State of the federal government’s commitment to addressing the security challenges confronting the area.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq thanks President Tinubu for his prompt response to the attack and for approving the visit of a senior federal delegation to the state. He says the gesture offers comfort to the people and reinforces confidence in the government’s resolve to tackle insecurity.

The Kwara State Government reiterates its commitment to working with neighbouring states, security agencies, and the federal government to strengthen intelligence sharing and security operations around border communities.

Residents of Kaiama and surrounding areas continue to call for sustained military and security presence to prevent further attacks, as communities begin the slow process of healing and rebuilding after the tragedy.

As condolence visits continue, state and federal leaders emphasise that the lives lost in the Woro attack must strengthen collective resolve to confront terrorism, protect vulnerable communities, and restore lasting peace to the region.
