The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, welcomed the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, and members of the Bureau’s Board and Directors at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. The high-level visit, held at the IGP Smart Conference Room, aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Bureau in promoting ethics, accountability, and transparency across public service sectors.
Dr. Bello, in his remarks, praised the IGP for his transformative leadership and ongoing efforts to uphold professionalism within the police force. He emphasized the Bureau’s interest in enhancing compliance mechanisms and fostering effective information-sharing systems between the two institutions. According to the CCB Chairman, stronger interagency cooperation is essential to deepening ethical standards and deterring misconduct in public office.
In response, IGP Egbetokun commended the Code of Conduct Bureau for its critical role in promoting integrity in the Nigerian public sector. He reaffirmed the police force’s willingness to collaborate closely with the Bureau to build a more transparent system, rooted in ethical behavior and accountability. The IGP highlighted that maintaining public trust requires a united front among oversight institutions.
The Inspector-General further stated that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to open partnerships with institutions like the CCB to drive national development through effective governance. He noted that such collaborations are crucial for strengthening public confidence and ensuring that law enforcement aligns with best practices in integrity and service delivery.
