The Kano State Police Command arrests three suspects over the brutal killing of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State. The arrests follow intelligence-led operations ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and coordinated by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

Police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirms that the arrested suspects are Umar Auwalu, 23, of Sabuwar Gandu Quarters; Isyaku Yakubu, also known as Chebe, 40, of Sagagi Quarters; and Yakubu Abdulaziz, popularly called Wawo, 21, of Sabon Gida Sharada Quarters. Investigators describe the trio as principal actors in the violent crime.
Mediaplusng.com understands that Umar Auwalu, who is allegedly the leader of the syndicate and a nephew of the deceased woman, confesses to planning and executing the attack. During interrogation, he reportedly admits that the group is involved in other violent crimes within Kano metropolis.
According to the police, the suspect confesses that the syndicate previously carries out attacks in other parts of the state, including the killing and burning of two housewives in Tudun Yola Quarters. The confession opens new investigative leads as detectives widen the scope of their inquiry.
Items recovered from the suspects include blood-stained clothing, two mobile phones belonging to the deceased, a cutlass, a club locally known as gora, and an undisclosed amount of cash allegedly taken from the victims’ home. Police say the exhibits are vital to strengthening the case against the suspects.
The Kano State Police Command commends officers involved in the operation and thanks residents for timely information and cooperation. The command reassures the public of its resolve to dismantle criminal networks and ensure justice for the victims.
