Kebbi ADC Crisis: Faction Warns Suspended Members Against Parading as Executives

A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has issued a strong warning to suspended members, cautioning them against parading themselves as executives of the party.

The factional chairman, Abdulrazak Abubakar, made this known during a press conference on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi, where he addressed the growing tension within the party.

Abubakar said the faction is aware that Sufiyanu Bala and some others, who were earlier suspended, have continued to act as state executives of the ADC. He explained that Alhaji Sule Iko was also suspended after being allegedly appointed as state chairman by Sufiyanu, who has no legal standing to do so.

According to him, a Kebbi State High Court has issued an interim injunction restraining Sufiyanu Bala and two other officials from parading themselves as members of the ADC state executive committee. Abubakar said the court’s order is clear and binding, stressing that the party will not tolerate any act of impersonation or disobedience to lawful directives.

He maintained that neither Bala nor Iko remains a recognized member of the ADC, warning that any attempt to violate the court order would be met with legal consequences.

> “A High Court sitting in Kebbi State has issued an interim injunction restraining three officials of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from parading themselves as members of the party’s state executive committee,” Abubakar told journalists.

Abubakar assured party members and supporters that the faction remains committed to upholding the rule of law, promoting internal democracy, and restoring peace within the ADC in Kebbi State.

He also urged stakeholders and members across the 21 local government areas to remain calm and united as the party works to strengthen its structure ahead of future political activities.

Mediaplusng.com reports that the Kebbi ADC crisis has deepened in recent months, with rival factions accusing each other of misconduct and illegal takeover of party structures. However, the latest warning by the Abdulrazak-led faction appears to reaffirm the legal position of the group and its commitment to lawful leadership.

Mediaplusng.com gathered that the ongoing dispute has attracted attention from the ADC national secretariat, which is expected to intervene soon to restore harmony among party members in the state.
